A PASSED OUT DRUNK WAS MORE INTERESTING
Herman Moore, Lomas Brown, Eddie Murray, Chris Spielman, Barry Sanders and now Calvin Johnson all have one thing in common. They were all great players who played for a bad organization (THE WORST ORGANIZATION IN ALL OF SPORTS) - The Detroit Lions. So with The Big D in attendance at Ford Field last Sunday watching all the ex-Lions greats (not to take anything away from players like Lem Barney and Charlie Sanders but those teams were much better then this one) being introduced at halftime, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for all these tremendous talents who once played for such a joke of a franchise and that was more then evident as the Lions suffered an absolute horrific loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars 38-14. I knew the game was going to be like this. I prepared to watch a blowout just like this but that doesn’t mean you ever truly accept it. Fans were booing (hysterically at times)… …CONTINUE READING =>
THE ANSWER TO OUR PROBLEMS
It was a move that I couldn’t believe at first. It still hasn’t really sunk in yet. The Detroit Pistons recently acquired who I consider to be the greatest little man of all time. That’s really saying something considering the great Isiah Thomas once played for the Pistons but let’s face it, Allen Iverson is THE ANSWER, literally. Joe Dumars promised at the end of last season that changes would be made. I believed him. As far as I am concerned – IN JOE WE TRUST. He knows how to win and his decisions are often good ones (despite the Darko draft choice which we won’t talk about). This really was a great move for our Pistons. In obtaining Allen Iverson, the Pistons now have a player …CONTINUE READING =>
THE FABULOUS PHILLIES
I sure laid an egg with my World Series prediction. In saying Tampa Bay would win in 6 games, I wasn’t even in the ballpark so to speak. I, like so many people who predicted Tampa Bay, was brutally surprised by this outcome. Looking back on it now I guess I can say that it’s not really that surprising after all but as I watched this World Series something became very apparent. Like the Tigers in the 2006 World Series, the Rays just weren’t hitting the ball. Was it Philadelphia’s pitching? Yes, but for the most part I would say it was …CONTINUE READING =>
CROSS YOUR FINGERS, PORT HURON!
Obviously I didn’t call play-by-play for this week’s Port Huron High Big Reds game (they were in Warren Woods Tower) but judging by the turnout I certainly wish I would have. Whether or not the Big Reds would make the playoffs was no longer in question. They assured themselves a playoff berth with last week’s victory. Perhaps this week was the most important game of their entire season though being as a victory this week would all but assure them a home playoff game for the 2nd season in a row. Knowing what was at stake, the Big Reds made a home playoff game next week possible with a huge 28-20 victory over Warren Woods Tower. Due to the fact that everyone knows it’s …CONTINUE READING =>
